At MITE, we understand how important physical activities are for the wholesome development of an individual. Bearing testimony to this, we have a playground sprawling across 6 acres. An excellent ambience, serene and pollution free environment at the foothills of a green mountain, a water spring flowing throughout the year are the other attractions. MITE provides the right facilities for all round development of a student. Ample facilities are provided for the students to excel in the sports arena. The college has a 400 meters track ground, Cricket, Football, Volleball ground. Synthetic Bassketball Court of International Standard worth INR 25 Lakhs Two synthetic layered Badmintion Courts for for Boys & Girls costing INR 1.75 Lakhs Ongoing construction of Synthetic Tennis Court of International Standard Seperate Gymnasium for Boys & Girls is also one of the highlight of the sports facility.


The Two Day VTU Intercollegiate Mysore Zone Men’s Basketball Tournament conducted at MITE on 23rd April. The event was conducted on April 22nd & 23rd as part of the VTU Sports activities. In the final match held on the 23rd evening, NMAMIT Nitte team won the Mysore zone Tournament against St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore by a margin of 45-22. In another match held before the finals, SJCE, Mysore beat BIT Davanagere by a margin of 40-24. The two teams were declared 3rd & 4th Position respectively.

The tournament witnessed 22 matches in two days. A total of 25 teams across the VTU Mysore zone registered for the event. Few matches were also played under the flood light on the April 22nd. The matches were played in the newly inaugurated Synthetic Basket ball stadium, which conforms to the International standards. In his presentation address, Mr. Rajesh Chouta, Chairman of the Rajalaxmi Education Trust said that with the major success of the basket ball tournament MITE will look forward to conduct many more Invitation tournaments in the year further.
